In the developer shell, enable USB Boot and the legacy BIOS: sudo suĬrossystem dev_boot_usb=1 dev_boot_legacy=1ĭownload the latest 14.04 Xubuntu ISO (or any other Linux distro) and put it onto a flash drive with Universal USB Installer or some similar software. Open up a shell in Chrome OS by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T and entering "shell". Switch Chromebook into developer mode: instructions in the "Developer & Recovery Mode" section. You can check the updating status in chrome://help Log into Chrome OS and let it auto update, as there sometimes are firmware updates. Here's a long list of what I've done so far: Any suggestions/additions would be great. Many of these fixes are not specific to Xubuntu and the C720. I thought it'd be nice to have a comprehensive list of fixes or things to do when setting up Xubuntu or Ubuntu on the Acer C720.
